보수주의자의 신념

존경하는 형님께서 보수주의의 의미를 모르면서 보수주의자라고 자칭하는 분들은 꼭 읽어봐야 한다는 취지로 페북에 공유하신 링크입니다. 마이클 하워드는 1941년생으로 영국의 정치가이며 2003년 11월부터 2005년 12월까지 보수당의 당수였고 그 이전에는 고용부장관, 환경안보부 장관 등 마가렛 대처와 존 메이저 정부의 각료로 일하였습니다. 길지 않아 그대로 옮기고 번역해 보았습니다.

나는 남자와 여자가 그들의 가족들과 자신을 위해서 건강, 부와 행복을 원하는 것이 자연스러운 것이라고 믿는다.
